2026 deadline · Wineries & cideries
FDA food facility registration renewal, done before Dec 31.
Every even year, registered wine facilities must renew with FDA. We pre-check every field, you approve, and it’s filed with weeks to spare.
Who must renew
Most wineries that bottle are FDA “food facilities.”
FDA’s guidance says bottling wine is manufacturing/processing, so the farm exemption doesn’t cover it. Domestic facilities must register even if their wine never leaves the state.
We don’t give exemption opinions. If you think you’re exempt, check 21 CFR 1.226–1.227, ask a beverage attorney, or contact FDA’s help desk.
Registered in 2024 or earlier? Your registration needs renewing this window.
May qualify as a retail food establishment (21 CFR 1.227), where direct sales, including online, exceed all other sales.
Registration attaches to the physical facility that makes, bottles or stores the wine. Confirm with your host facility.
We serve domestic facilities only and don’t act as U.S. Agent.
If you miss it
What happens after Dec 31.
- Dec 31, 11:59 PMRegistration expires
FDA considers it expired and removes it from your account.
- ImmediatelyTreated as unregistered
Under 21 CFR 1.241, an expired registration counts as a failure to register, a prohibited act under the FD&C Act.
- After expiryFDA cancels it
FDA cancels expired registrations. You’d then file a new registration, not a renewal.

What we need from you
Ten minutes of your time.
- Your FDA registration number
- Facility address and owner/operator details
- Your DUNS number (the UFI FDA requires)
- Emergency contact phone and email
- What you make, bottle or store there
- If we submit: an FDA Industry Systems subaccount for our filer, plus your written authorization (never your password or PIN)
Start early: the DUNS trap

Lost your FDA login or PIN?
Don’t re-register. FDA asks you to contact its help desk; we’ll prepare the signed letterhead request it asks for.
Questions
FDA renewal FAQ
When is the 2026 FDA food facility registration renewal due?
The renewal window runs from 12:01 AM on October 1, 2026 through 11:59 PM on December 31, 2026. Registrations are renewed every even-numbered year (21 CFR 1.230(b)).
Does my winery or cidery have to renew?
Most bonded wineries and cideries that bottle, store or pack wine must, because FDA treats wine bottling as manufacturing/processing. Some may be exempt, for example a facility that qualifies as a retail food establishment under 21 CFR 1.227 because most of its sales are direct to consumers. We don't give exemption opinions; check 21 CFR 1.226 and 1.227, ask a beverage attorney, or contact FDA's registration help desk.
What happens if I miss December 31?
FDA says a registration not renewed by 11:59 PM on December 31, 2026 is considered expired and is removed from your account. Under 21 CFR 1.241, an expired registration is treated as a failure to register, which is a prohibited act under the FD&C Act, and FDA will cancel it.
Does FDA charge a fee, or require a third-party service?
No. FDA charges no fee to register or renew, and you are not required to use a third party. You can renew yourself in your FDA Industry Systems (FIS) account. Our fee is for preparation, checking and tracking. We are a private company, not affiliated with FDA.
How much does it cost, and how do you submit it?
Our flat fee is $119 per facility ($79 for each additional facility in the same order), and $0 if you have Renewal Watch paid annually or any Full Filing Desk plan. FDA charges nothing. You either submit it yourself in your own FDA account using our checked field sheet, or you create an FDA Industry Systems subaccount for our filer and authorize us in writing to submit the renewal for you (21 CFR 1.230(b)). We never ask for your FDA account password or your registration PIN, and you can deactivate the subaccount at any time.
Will I get a registration certificate?
No, and you don't need one. FDA does not issue registration certificates and does not recognize certificates issued by private companies. We will never sell you one.
What if I lost my FDA account login or PIN?
Don't re-register. FDA says to contact its registration help desk (FURLS) to regain access. We can prepare the letterhead request FDA asks for, signed by you.
Do you act as U.S. Agent for foreign wineries?
No. We serve domestic facilities only and do not act as the FDA U.S. Agent for foreign facilities.
Also due soon: your 2026 TTB annual report and excise return (Jan 14–15, 2027).
